Manager of Pediatric Sub-Acute Nursing

The Manager of Pediatric Sub-Acute Nursing is responsible for the supervision of the nursing staff as well as oversight of the Unit. This position oversees the nursing program in  order to maintain standards of patient responsible for the supervision of the nursing staff as well as oversight of the Unit. Job Responsibilities/Duties

  • Recommends establishment or revision of policies and develops standard of performance.
  • Interprets policies and objectives of hospital nursing service to staff and community groups.
  • Promotes good working relations within the staff. Promotes a good working relationship with community agencies and with other hospital departments.
  • Performs personnel management functions, such as establishing personnel qualification requirements, drafting procedure manuals, initiating in-service programs and installing record and reporting systems.
  • Appoints professional and auxiliary nursing staff. Initiates studies to evaluate effectiveness of nursing services in relation to its objectives and cost. Participates in community health programs.


Minimum Education: Graduate of a professional school of nursing. BSN degree preferred. At least one year of managerial experience or equivalent preferred.

Minimum Experience: Recent experience as a RN in Pediatric setting preferred. Must be in a physical condition to meet the demands of an active position with the ability to maintain emotional stability and to understand how to effectively cope with stress during crisis situations. Ability to exhibit effective written and verbal communication skills.

Req. Certification/Licensure: Current license as a Registered Nurse in the State of California and current BLS.
